How Origami Home Works

  Origami Home is unfolding the homes of the future. It is unique for three main reasons:

• Affordable by Design. Origami Home grew out of our relentless focus on keeping housing attainably priced.
• Intentional Simplicity. Origami home is a very simple, repeatable product built for speed.   
• Hybrid Solution. We pre-build as much as possible in our off-site factory to streamline the process, delivering great pricing, fast build time, and consistent quality for homeowners. The home is fully stick-built inspectable on site, providing a leg up for mortgages and insurance, simplifying local permitting and inspections, and ensuring maximum resale value down the road.

  Base Shell Includes:

· 2x8 floor system with Advantek sheathing

· Fold flat 2x4 walls with Zip sheathing

· Roof panels with Zip sheathing

· Pre-installed electrical wiring

· Pre-engineered openings for windows and doors (window and door units not included)

· Complete construction drawings and assembly instructions

Exterior Package Includes:

· Complete siding package, including LP SmartSide lap siding, Miratec trim and fascia, and LP SmartSide vented soffit.

· Siding package pre-painted with one coat of paint

· Galvalume metal roof panels

· Vinyl sliding windows

· Exterior door and hardware

· The exterior package items are pre-cut where possible but are shipped loose and require installation on site.

Kitchen and Bath Package Includes:

· Pre-built Bath Pod: Fiberglass soaker tub and shower surround with shower head and tub filler, vanity, sink, bath faucet, toilet, bath hardware, bath fan, vinyl floor, and prefinished and painted sheetrock. 

· Pre-built Kitchen Pod: Base and upper cabinets, clear-coated butcher-block counters, stainless steel sink, and kitchen faucet.

· Water heater

· Plumbing and wiring pre-installed (requires final connections on site). 

· Requires installation and final connections on site.

Interiors Package Includes:

· Precut + prefinished wall and ceiling paneling with attachment hardware

· Interior Trim: Base and head trim at walls, ceiling battens, pre-built window trim units, 

· Interior doors and hardware

· Pre-built interior wall panels

· LED strip lighting with remote control switching

· Bamboo flooring

· Closet hardware, 

· Fiberglass insulation package. 

· The finish package items are pre-cut where possible but are shipped loose and require installation on site.

What’s Not Included:

The following items are not included in any of the packages above: home assembly, installation of field-installed items, field connections for electrical and plumbing, foundation and site work, permit and inspection fees, appliances, heating/cooling system, final coat of paint, front stoop and stairs, utilities, engineering seals (if required by your permit office). Pricing for completed homes is based on our construction company building you a finished Origami home in the Asheville, NC or Durham, NC area.  More areas to be added as we build out a network of local installers. Note that this pricing does not include the cost of the foundation, site work, or utilities, as these items need to be assessed in a site visit.

Origami Home is available in the Eastern United States (in wind zones up to 90 mph) as a shell package that is assembled by a local contractor or DIYer.  Packages are also available for a virtually complete material package.
